Lamb with potatos curry is a very popular and delicious meal in Kashmir.Cooking method of this recipe is slightly different: however, when the curry seasoning is used, it enhances the flavours and taste to a new dimension. Do try this recipe and enjoy!








Ingredients:

Lamb – 1 kg
Potatoes – ½ kg
Bay leaves – 2
Black cardamom – 2
Green chillies – 4
Green cardamom – 4
Onion – 3
Ghee – 250gm
Yogurt – 1 cup
Black pepper – 1tsp
Nutmeg and Mace – 1 tsp
Black cumin seeds – 1 tsp
Salt – 1 tsp
Red Chili powder – 1 tsp
Ginger garlic paste – 1 tbsp
Kewra water – 1 tbsp
Ginger juliennes – 1 tbsp
Coriander powder – 2 tsp
All spice powder – 2 tbsp



Preparation:

Heat up ghee, add potato cubes, fry and then keep aside. Now add in ghee chopped onion, fry well and the keep it aside. Marinate meat with yogurt, coriander powder, chilli powder, salt, ginger garlic paste and cumin seeds for 30 minutes. Now add in ghee marinated meat, cover and cook for 30 minutes till meat is tender. Now crush the fried onion and add to the pan, also add fried potatoes with 2 glasses of water. Cook for 30 minutes on medium flame. Crush 2 bay leaves, 4 green cardamom, 1 tsp nutmeg and mace. Add this to the pan. Cook for more 30 minutes. Turn the flame off, add Kewra water, 1 tbsp ginger juliennes and 4 green chillies, serve with Naan.
